Hello everyone and welcome! From the beginning, you may notice the peculiar setting- different than in the previous episodes you’ve heard on this podcast. This episode was not recorded in the studio as it usually is, but instead was recorded in the woods of Cloudland Canyon State Park, in North Georgia. In this episode you will hear many unusual background sounds, such as a generator, some wind, and a few crickets.
The episode was recorded on Saturday, October 26th. We weren’t sure that we’d actually record the episode outside due to the forecast, which included rain all day Friday and Saturday. Almost at the last minute, we decided to proceed with the trip, despite the rain that was coming towards us that weekend.
In this episode, Jose and Daniel, along with a few friends- Jennifer, Eder, Roberto and me (Heidi), talk about a few creepy things we’ve encountered or experienced. Juan chimes in quite a bit in this episode as well, which is nice so you all can get to know him a bit more.
I’m not going to get too much into the stories we each share so you can have the chance to hear them yourselves, but I do want to say that throughout the recording of this episode, the surroundings of the campsite made everything 10 times scarier.
Daniel shared a story of his Facebook Friend’s baby. The photos are pending approval, but will be placed below once approved.
We also mentioned how we seem to hear more about the paranormal in our home countries than we do here in the U.S. This topic is more deeply discussed in a previous MRP Show episode, The Spectrum, Part 2 (Season 1, Episode 4), so if you haven’t listened to it yet, this time of year would be the perfect time to check it out.
If you are unfamiliar with some of the legends mentioned during this episode, below are a few things that could provide some insight.
La Llorona- A woman who after being abandoned by her husband, drowned her children in a river. She was condemned to wander for all eternity until she finds the bodies of her children. People say she appears by rivers or lakes, at night, dressed in white, screaming “Oh, my children!”. Some say she kidnaps wandering children, mistaking them for hers.
El Chupacabra- Literally translated, “goat-sucker”. It is described as a creature that drains the blood of animals, such as goats and sheep.
El Duende- Gnome-like creatures who can be both good or evil.
At one point, the conversation took an interesting turn and somehow we ended up talking about dreams, sleep paralysis, and astral-projections. Hearing mostly everyone share their sleep paralysis stories made me feel thankful that I’ve never had to go through that. Also, thanks to Jennifer, I know what to do if I ever do experience it.
As you will hear in the episode, we were interrupted by raccoons a few times throughout the recording. We thank Eder for his service in defending our campsite.
Below are a few photos to go along with the stories we shared. We hope you enjoyed this episode, and as always, we thank you for your continuous support!
